Albania’s exports fall 7.7% in Dec 2015

TIRANA: Albania’s exports fell by 7.7 percent in December 2015 compared with December 2014, official figures showed Thursday. Exports in December 2015 fell by 8.5 percent compared with November 2015, according to the Albanian Institute of Statistics.

The exports in minerals, fuels and electricity in December 2015 was down 9.8 percent year-on-year, while exports in construction materials and metals also declined by 5 percent.

The decline was partially offset by growth in exports in textiles and footwear, food, beverages and tobacco and leather and leather manufacture. Imports in December 2015 were 53 billion lek (420 million U.S. dollars), down 2.2 percent year-on-year. The trade deficit in the month was 35 billion lek (280 million dollars).
