Alcatel OneTouch enters tablet market in India with POP 8S

NEW DELHI: Alcatel OneTouch has entered the tablet market in India today with the launch of its flagship tablet – the POP 8S. The tablet will be selling exclusively on Flipkart for Rs 10,499.

The Alcatel OneTouch POP 8S is an 8-inch tablet having a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. It houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC which has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. It measures just 7.9mm thick and weighs around 327 grams.  On the storage front, you get 8GB storage with the option to expand it to 64GB using a microSD card slot.

The OneTouch POP 8S comes with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. It sports a 5MP rear camera and a 3MP front-facing camera. On the connectivity front, you get Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11n and it also has a SIM card slot which can take in a 4G LTE SIM card. It is powered by a 4,060mAh battery.

Recently, Alcatel OneTouch had launched a series of handsets such as the Hero series, Idol series and so on. Alcatel’s Idol series smartphones Idol X, Idol S and Idol mini come with features such as ‘pic to the left’, that allows users to swipe and flip through the photo gallery to share them with friends. The Alcatel One Touch Hero is a higher-end smartphone sporting a massive 6-inch HD display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels.
