LONDON: Due to hit the local market this week, the all-new 2016 Sorento will come with top safety marks, thanks to new Euro NCAP crash test results analysed and approved by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

Achieving a near perfect 15.62 out of a possible 16 in the Frontal Offset test and maximum points in the Side Impact and Pole Impact tests, the Sorento has been awarded a 5-Star rating.

That top score also comes thanks to a solid array of standard safety features, including electronic stability control, emergency brake assist, electronic brakeforce distribution, three-point seat belts for all forward facing seats, side airbags and seatbelt reminders for the first and second row seats, emergency stop signal, reversing collision avoidance and a roll stability system.

The new Sorento makes its Australian debut this week, with full pricing and details to be released on Friday morning.
