All set to mark International Customs Day today, Governor Sindh Zubair to grace event

KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs has finalized all the preparation to mark International Customs Day (ICD) 2018 today at Old Customs House.

According to the details, Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair will be the chief guest at the mega event “International Customs Day 2018”. A grand ceremony is scheduled at Old Customs House, Eduljee Dinshaw Road Karachi followed by the destruction ceremony of narcotics and contraband goods in huge quantity.

The mega event of the customs will kick off after the flag hoisting ceremony and national anthem. The Collector Customs Collectorate Preventive will also deliver a key speech to the officer and staff of the customs regarding the importance of the International Customs Day.

Along with the Collector Customs Collectorate Preventive, Chief Collector Enforcement South will also address the gathering at the ceremony. The chief guest of the event Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair will distribute the shield and certificates among the officer as well as the staff giving out the best performance during the year 2018 whereas will also address.

On the International Customs Day 2018 huge Narcotics and Contraband goods will be destructed at E-2, Customs Colony, Mauripur. For the destruction of the Narcotics and Contraband goods another ceremony will also take place on the same day in afternoon.

It is pertinent to mention that the International Customs Day (ICD) is celebrated to enhance the effectiveness and efficacy of the member customs administrations and to enhance the revenue collection, community protection, national security as well as trade statistics collection.
