NEW YORK: Amazon started getting pre-orders for Google’s Nexus 9 tablet and offered free shipping beginning from not earlier than November 3. For 16GB Wi-Fi version, pre-orders start from $ 399 for black or white color device but 32GB Wi-Fi version can also be pre-ordered at $479.99.
Not yet up for pre-orders on Amazon are the LTE models of the tablets, along with the “sand” color option available for all versions of the device.
For people living outside the United States, Amazon also offers the Nexus 9 up for pre-orders on international websites. Amazon France has the 16GB version up for €399 and the 32GB version up for €489. Amazon France also has the 32GB LTE model up, for a price of €569. Amazon Germany, on the other hand, also has the 12GB and 32GB Wi-Fi models up for pre-order, at the same prices as those in Amazon France.
The official first day of pre-orders for the Nexus 9 will have the tablet go up on Google’s Play Store and other retailers.
The Nexus 9, built by HTC in partnership with Google, is the successor of the Nexus 7 tablet that was manufactured by Asus. As the Nexus 7 was the first device to run on Android 4.1, the Nexus 9 will be one of the first devices to run on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Nexus 9 was designed with the usage of Android 5.0 in mind, which means that the tablet will be maximizing the capabilities of Google’s new version for its mobile operating system.
The Nexus 9 also boasts a 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 2.3 GHz processor and a 192-core Kepler graphics card, which is a package of powerful hardware that will work in perfect combination with the 64-bit processing capability of Android 5.0.
