The company has doubled the minimum spending amount at its e-commerce site from £10 to £20.

Initially, the deliveries were sent out for fee, but the company added minimum purchase price of £10 to qualify for the free delivery offer. However, the company has made an exception for books, which qualify for free ‘Super Saver Delivery’ on purchase of £10 or more.

Shoppers from Ireland will have to buy products worth £25 or more to avail the offer.

If the bill amount is less than £20 then customers will have to pay £2 to £5 for first-class postage, depending upon the size of the package.

The latest move by the e-commerce giant is reportedly an attempt to push users towards Amazon Prime, which comes with a £79 a year subscription fees, and includes more than 9 million items and 15,000 movies and TV episodes with Prime Instant Video.

The subscription will provide users free next day delivery rather than the three to five day delivery of the super saver scheme.
