LAHORE: Amendment in the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), act, has been challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) and the court issued notices to Punjab chief secretary and secretary law seeking reply till March 14.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah heard the appeal of an engineering company in which the counsel Nasir Mehmood argued that government has amended the PRA Act and included a sub-section 4 in Section 5 (Section 5(4)).
The government has fully empowered the PRA chief, but the sub-section 3 indicates clearly that authority will be comprising one chairperson and four other members, he said, adding that PRA has not appointed four members till date.
He argued more that both sections negate to each other and pleaded the court to announce the recent amendment as illegal.
After hearing the arguments, the court issued notice to chief secretary and secretary law and sought answer till March 14.
