AMMAN: A total of 3,031 new firms and business establishments have registered at the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) in the first quarter of 2015 compared to 3,205 firms in the same period last year, according to ACC figures.
The figures showed that the capital of the new establishments stood at JD73 million, compared to JD253 million in the same period last year. Jordanian establishments ranked first with JD49 million, followed by Syrians with JD2.8 million, and Iraqis with JD1.9 million.
The new firms and businesses were scattered within the sectors of information and communications technology, clothes and jewelry, construction, vehicles and heavy machinery, and health and medicine.
