LONDON: Android 5.1 Lollipop update has been going to Google’s Nexus devices for nearly a month now.

Nexus 5 Android 5.1 Lollipop update download Android 5.1 Lollipop update factory images for a few Nexus devices have been available for a while now, but hadn’t seen much progress in terms of OTA updates lately. This week, things have changed as Nexus 5 Android 5.1 Lollipop update OTA has now started to rolling out. The OTA update going out right now looks to be based on the LMY47I build and this means that it includes the latest changes that have been made to 5.1 Lollipop. This might actually be what Google had been waiting on lately and why the Nexus 5’s Android 5.1 Lollipop update initial rollout wasn’t as widespread as expected.

2012 HSPA+ Nexus 7

Google Nexus 7 2012 Android 5.1 Lollipop updates, the cellular variant of the 2012 Nexus 7 is also receiving Android 5.1 Lollipop update at this time. We actually haven’t heard many reports from users about the OTA update yet, but since OTA update links have been captured, it means that at least a few people have received it. The Nexus 7 Android 5.1 Lollipop update seems to be based on the LMY47G build, so if users aren’t running that version of Lollipop yet, then they might be getting an OTA update notification very soon.

Nexus 10

Nexus 10 Android 5.1 Lollipop update, another member of the Nexus family, the 10-inch Nexus tablet, has also received the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. The update going out to customers is also the LMY47D build, just like the Nexus 7, and so far the user reports seem to be fairly positive. Almost all OTA updates are met with some issues with the users, but most of those are the result of random hiccups that happen during the update process.

Nexus 9

Nexus 9 Android 5.1 Lollipop updates, interestingly enough, the Nexus 9 Android 5.1 Lollipop update is nowhere to be found. We find this interesting because most Android OEMs will update their most recent devices first. Companies like Samsung, Motorola, LG, and even HTC do this for their flagship devices. Nexus smart phones and tablets on the other hand, do not. However, the cellular variant of the 2012 Nexus 7 was able to get 5.1 Lollipop before the WiFi Nexus 9 received it. These cellular tablets are usually the last in the Nexus family to be updated, so this was very surprising to see.
