ANF aborts bid to smuggle heroin into S. Arabia

LAHORE: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 750 gram of heroin from an accused who was travelling from Lahore to Taif, Saudi Arabia.

According to sources of Customs Today on Wednesday, a team of anti-narcotics booked accused, Alla-u-Din, who was attempting to smuggle heroin into Saudi Arabia.

The heroin was hidden in his trolley in a very technical way. Sources said the worth of the recovered heroin is more than Rs seven million in the international market. The ANF has arrested accused Ala-u-Din, a resident of Swat, and shifted him to unknown place for further investigation and prosecution.

A case has also been registered against the accused.

It is pertinent to mention here that punishment for drug smuggling in Saudi Arabia is death sentence.
