LAHORE: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered heroin from an intending Haji at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
Sources told Customs Today that during duty hours at Allama Iqbal International airport Lahore, security officers confiscated drugs from the possession of an intending Haji during luggage checking . The accused who was identified as Muhammad Naveed was travelling for Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
Security personnel have said that the passenger hide one kilogram of heroin in secret pockets of bag that was detected during search of the goods belonged to the accused. Smuggling of narcotics is prohibited in Saudi Arabia which carries death penalty only.
Anti Narcotics Force has registered a case against the accused Muhammad Naveed under smuggling acts for further investigation and prosecutions. Sources said that accused has been shifted to unknown pace for further legal action. Moreover, investigations from the suspect is underway.
