Customs JIAP foils attempt to smuggling heroin worth Rs5.5m

KARACHI: Pakistan Customs staff of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) posted at International Departure has apprehended accused along with narcotics.

According to the details, on the tip of Deputy Collector Customs Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) Tuseef Aman Gorchani, the staff posted at International Departure boosted up the surveillance during which one passenger was intercepted on suspicion.

The staff of the Pakistan Customs intercepted a passenger and inquired regarding the travel documents as well as conducted checking of the luggage. During the checking the staff of the customs recovered 565 gram of heroin powder from the bag of the said passenger.

Customs officers informed Customs Today that the recovered five hundred sixty five gram of heroin powder worth Rs5.5 million in the international market. The said narcotics were concealed in the trolley bag with carbon paper layered with Iodex to dodge scanning machine operators.

Customs officer further stated that the culprit named Arsalan Anwar was travelling to Bankok through Qatar International flight noQR-506 which was Doha bonded and the culprit smartly passed the Air Port Security checking counter. The said narcotics have been seized and case has been filed against the arrested culprit Arsalan Anwar to initiate further investigations.
