Sialkot: ANF foils bid to smuggle heroin, arrests two from airport

SIALKOT: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled a major bid to smuggle heroin from Sialkot to Jeddah at the Sialkot International Airport.

According to the airport management, two Sargodha-based accused were travelling to Jeddah from the Sialkot International Airport on a direct flight of the national flag carrier – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The accused had secretly kept fine quality heroin weighing 2kg in the hidden parts of a suitcase, which the ANF detected with the help of detectors and scanners.

The ANF said that the seized heroin was of fine quality, worth millions of rupees.  The ANF personnel arrested both the accused, and did not disclose their names. Further investigation is underway in this regard.
