ANF official killed during anti-narcotics action

SIALKOT: A senior official of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Zafar Abbas was killed during a raid against suspected drug traffickers near Pindi Bhattian Motorway.

Reportedly, the ANF team conducted raid and intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration No. LZZ-0040 for checking.

According to the senior ANF officials, the riders of the vehicle fled away by leaving the vehicle there and they took shelter into the roadside fields.

Later, the accused started firing on the chasing police and the ANF teams, when some bullets fired by the accused drug traffickers hit senior ANF official Zafar Abbas, killing him on the spot.

Later, the ANF arrested two alleged drug pushers Munawar Shah and Adil Jaan after about two-hour long encounter. The accused belonged to Peshawar. The ANF also seized as many as 22 packets of opium and a big quantity of the firearms from the vehicle.

Thee ANF officials added that the ANF has sent the accused behind the bars after registering a case against them. Further investigations are underway.
