ANF recovers 230.7kg drugs, arrests 11 traffickers

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 230.7kg drugs, including 227.77kg hashish and three kg heroin, in 10 counter narcotics operations and arrested 11 persons involved in supply of drugs.

Three vehicles were also impounded during the operations. As per details, ANF Quetta while acting on a tip-off intercepted a Potohar Jeep on RCD Quetta – Karachi Road near Ramzan Hotel and recovered 195kg hashish during search of the Jeep.

Two parsons on-board identified as Muhammad Hayat and Sami Ullah, both residents of Lasbella, were arrested. In another operation, ANF Quetta recovered 2.9kg hashish from possession of a drug carrier namely Haji Akbar, resident of Qilla Abdullah. He was arrested near Jungle Pir Ali Zai Bazar District, Qilla Abdullah.

ANF Lahore intercepted a Suzuki Swift Car near Motorway Toll Plaza, Lahore and recovered 12kg hashish which was concealed in secret cavity of the car. A person on-board identified as Muhammad Awais Akbar, resident of Karachi was apprehended.

In another operation, ANF Lahore recovered 1.6kg heroin from possession of the accused, Imtiaz Ahmed, resident of Gujranwala. He was arrested near Madina Masijid Muradiya Road Model Town, Sialkot. In third operation ANF Lahore seized 1.4kg heroin by intercepting a UK-bound parcel being sent through a courier service company at Sialkot. Heroin was concealed in Crockery Pots.

ANF Peshawar intercepted a Daewoo Racer Car near Motorway toll plaza Peshawar and recovered 7.2kg hashish which was concealed in back side of the front seat. A person on-board identified as Muhammad Shahid, resident of Khyber Agency was arrested at the spot. In another operation ANF Peshawar recovered 650g hashish from possession of a drug carrier namely Sajid Khan, resident of Faisalabad.

ANF Karachi recovered 7.2kg hashish from possession of two drug carriers, Ashfaq Ahmed and Rizwan, both residents of Karachi. They were arrested near Peshawari Ice Cream, Dawood Chowrangi Landhi, Karachi.

In second operation, ANF Karachi arrested a local drug supplier named Zalmi, resident of Karachi, recovering 1.320kg hashish from his personal possession. He was arrested near Madina Colony, Sector A-47, Scheme 33, Malir, Karachi. In another operation ANF Karachi recovered 1.5kg hashish from possession of a drug Peddler namely Abdul Sattar, resident of Hyderabad. He was arrested near Agricultures Residential Colony, Opposite Agriculture University Tando Jam, District Hyderabad.

All the cases have been registered at the respective ANF police stations and further investigations are underway.
