RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 239 kilograms charas and 96 kg opium in five operations conducted in various parts of the country, while nine drug traffickers including three women were detained.
The drugs worth approximately Rs 698 million in International market have been recovered.
According to details, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug paddler namely Saqib Abbasi on recovery of one kg charas from Mohallah Aminabad, Attock City.
ANF Lahore in an operation conducted near Niazi Bus Stand, Bund Road Lahore held an individual identified as Muhammad Mohsin, resident of Lahore and recovered three kg opium.
ANF Lahore during routine checking near Mari Salu, Khanewal, stopped a suspected Hiace Datson bearing registration No. PP-7772.
During search of the vehicle, 93 kg opium and 85 kg charas was recovered, which was concealed in secret cavities of the vehicle. A drug trafficker namely Aamir Shahzad resident of Chiniot was also held.
ANF Lahore Team during checking at main Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad, seized a Honda Civic Car registration No LEA-3908 and recovered 18 kg charas concealed inside different parts of the car. Five persons including three women identified as Marjan resident of Khyber Agency, Muhammad Hassan, Maira, Mehnaz and Nazia resident of Peshawar boarding on the car were arrested.
ANF Sindh while acting on a tip-off, intercepted a Toyota Corolla car near Farash More Shikarpur Road, Sukkur. Detailed search of the car led to seizure of 135 kg charas concealed in improvised cavities of the car. An occupant of the car identified as Ramzan Khan Resident of Larkana was sent behind the bars.
Cases have been registered against the detainees at respective police stations and investigations are under process.
