ANF recovers 672kg narcotics worth Rs1.777b in 31 strikes

RAWALPINDI: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan recovered 672 kilogram narcotics, valuing Rs1.177 billion in international market besides arresting 37 persons including six ladies and two foreign nationals involved in drug smuggling all across the country.

Seven vehicles were also seized in 31 counter-narcotics strikes conducted across the country, said ANF spokesman on Thursday.

The recovered drugs comprised 608 kg Hashish, 12 kg Heroin, 10 kg Opium, 6.4 kg Amphetamine, 220 grams Methamphetamine and 35 kg Crystal, he added.

ANF Quetta in an intelligence based operation intercepted a vehicle at main Hoshab Panjgur Road, District Kech and recovered 500 kg Hashish, arresting Fazal Muhammad resident of Panjgur.

In another operation, ANF Quetta seized 60 kg Hashish. ANF Quetta in an intelligence based operation seized 35 kg Crystal from a mountainous area, Posti Basiani, District Chagai.

In addition, ANF Quetta intercepted a car on Sarayab Road near Green Town, Quetta and recovered 10 kg Opium and arrested Rehmat Ullah r/o Quetta.

ANF Rawalpindi seized two separate parcels being sent to UK through a courier service company based at Gulzar-e-Qaid, Rawalpindi, recovering 2.8 kg and 750 gram Heroin.

In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a motorcycle near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza, GT Road, Attock and recovered two kg Heroin and 2.4 kg Hashish concealed in the motorcycle and rounded up Muhammad Waqas r/o Attock.

Yet in another operation, ANF Rawalpindi recovered nine kg Hashish from an accused identified as Abdul Bazi r/o Diamir, arrested near NATCO Booking Office, Gahkuch, Ghizar. In fourth operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Land Cruiser near Bus Stop, Chingi No. 26, GT Road, Islamabad and recovered five kg Heroin concealed inside a door of the vehicle. Pervaiz Khan r/o Khyber Agency was apprehended. ANF Rawalpindi also arrested Khalid Zaman, a UK nationality holder at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 1.7 kg Heroin concealed in a coffee machine kept in his travelling bag.

In sixth operation, ANF Rawalpindi recovered twp kg Hashish by arresting two persons, Ibrar Ahmed r/o Multan and Kashif Shamshad r/o Gujranwala.

In seventh operation, ANF Rawalpindi recovered 1.4 kg Hashish from a local drug peddler, Sajid Pervaiz r/o Attock arrested near Chungi No. 3, Sanjwal Factory Road, Attock.

ANF Lahore arrested Altaf Ali, Irshad Hussain, Muhammad Sajad, Surkhuro, Shafi Ullah, Zarbat Khan and Shakeel Khan and recovered four kg Hashish, 450 grams hashish and 16.8 kg hashish respectively.

ANF Lahore also recovered 390 grams Heroin from a parcel being sent to UK through a courier service company based at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.

ANF Peshawar in collaboration with ASF arrested a passenger, Farman Ullah r/o Sawabi at Peshawar Airport and recovered 1.1kg Amphetamine.

In another operation, ANF Peshawar in collaboration with ASF arrested six Jeddah bound passengers, Abdul Rehman, Shatmana Bibi, Baitul Haram, Sacha Bibi, Baitual Haram Bibi and Misal Haram r/o Lower Dir at Peshawar Airport and recovered 1.4 kg Amphetamine, concealed in two sweet boxes.

ANF Peshawar arrested an accused, Faiz Ullah r/o Peshawar at Peshawar Airport and recovered 69 Heroin filled capsules weighing 370 grams.

In another operation, ANF Peshawar arrested Abdullah r/o Peshawar at Peshawar Airport and recovered 1.4 kg Amphetamine concealed in his trolley bag.

ANF Peshawar in collaboration with ASF arrested a passenger, Zahid Gul r/o Sawabi and recovered 1.1 kg Amphetamine. ANF Peshawar in another operation recovered 2.4 kg Hashish by arresting a lady, Shazia r/o Peshawar. In seventh operation, ANF Peshawar arrested Ismail Shah at Peshawar Airport and recovered 1.4 kg Amphetamine. In eighth operation, ANF

Peshawar recovered 1.2 kg Hashish from Shaad Mal r/o Khyber Agency, arrested while travelling in a passenger van near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar.

ANF Peshawar also arrested Sulaman Shah along with 2.4 kg Hashish. In tenth operation, ANF Peshawar arrested a Nigerian national, Anayanwu Lucky at Daewoo Terminal, Peshawar and recovered 600 gram Heroin. ANF Peshawar in another operation arrested Muhammad Ilyas r/o Khyber Agency and a lady, Rooma r/o Attock, recovering 1.2 kg Hashish and 280 grams Heroin.

ANF Karachi in collaboration with ASF arrested two foreign bound passengers including Muhammad Hussain and a lady namely Zaitoon Bibi, r/o Karachi at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi and recovered 220 grams Methamphetamine. Separate cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations while further investigations are underway.
