ANF recovers drugs worth Rs 33 million

ISLAMABAD: ANF during 7 country wide operations conducted at various cities, recovered 4.7 Kg Heroin, 3Charas and 300 Grams Amphetamine. The value of recovered drugs approximately amounts to Rs.33 million in International Market. ANF also arrested 10 persons including 2 ladies involved in drug trafficking during the operations. According to details, ANF Rawalpindi apprehended two notorious drug sellers Pitras andSanjay from Lalkurti, Tariqabad, Rawalpindi and recovered 500 Grams of Heroin from their personalpossession. Both the accused are real brothers and involved in supply of drugs at street level. ANF Rawalpindi in an operation conducted near main Dina Bus Stop, GT Road, Jhelum, arrested a street peddler namely Azher Iqbal r/o Jhelum and recovered 520 Grams of Heroin fromhis personal. He is reportedly involved in peddling of drugs at street level.ANF Lahore during routine vehicle search at Babu Sabu Interchange, Sheikhupura, arrested a lady smuggler Roohi Bano r/o Peshawar and recovered 500 Grams of Heroin from her personal possession. She was arrested from a passenger bus bound for Lahore. As per preliminary investigations, she was on her way from Peshawar to Lahore for delivery of drugs to a local peddler. ANF Lahore Road Check Team, arrested two drug traffickers namely Mohsin and Atif, both residents of Peshawar at main Motorway Faisalabad Toll Plaza, Faisalabad and recovered 1 Kg Heroin from their possession, which was tactfully concealed in their shoes. As per initial reports, they intended to proceed for Faisalabad City for delivery of drugs to a local peddler. After initial investigations, a drug recipient namely Sajid r/o Faislabad was also arrested from Ali Town,Faisalabad City. ANF Lahore Airport Team, detained two passengers including Mehr Haq Nawaz r/o Khushab and a lady namely Zubaida Bibi r/o Muzaffargarh at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and recovered 2.15 Kg Heroin and 300 Grams of Amphetamine from their possession. Drugs were concealed in their hand bag. They intended to board for Jeddah by Emirates Airline Flight No. EK-623. ANF Karachi raided a narcotics den being run at Nazimabad, Karachi and recovered 1.9 Kg of Charas. As per details, said drug den was being run by a local person namely Mujahid, who succeeded to flee from the scene. ANF Karachi in an operation carried out at Munshi Mohallah, Khairpur City, apprehend a local drug peddler namely Deedar Hussain r/o Kahirpur and recovered 1.08 Kg Charas from his possession. Cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
