ISLAMABAD:
The Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) recovered 10.6 kg heroin, 2 kg morphine, 10 kg charas and 1.2 kg opium in 9 operations carried out across the country.
During the operations, nine persons involved in drug trafficking were arrested and 3 vehicles seized. The value of recovered drugs approximately amounts to millions of rupees in international market. Most of drugs were destined abroad. According to details, on information shared by ANF Intelligence wing, UK authorities seized 12 kg heroin concealed in card boxes containing cover load of shirts. The consignment was exported through Qatar Air Cargo Services. No arrest could be made so far, however operation still goes in progress.
ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team, arrested a drug carrier Adil Rabbani r/o Mansehra and recovered 2 Kg Heroin from his personal possession. He was arrested at Abbotabad More, Hassanabdal, GT Road, Attock while riding on a Motorcycle No. KFN-1228. As per preliminary investigations, the accused smuggled Heroin from Peshawar and intended to hand over to a local peddler at Hassanabdal.
ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug supplier Adil Shazad r/o Jhelum at Mangla Bypass, Dina, District Jhelum and recovered 0.5 Kg Heroin from his personal possession. The accused is reportedly involved in supply of drugs to nearby localities.
ANF Rawalpindi Gilgit Team on a tip-off, intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car No. GLT-2070 near Inam Guest House, main Bazar, Gilgit and arrested a drug distributor Muhammad Tahir r/o Diamer along with recovery of 1.05 Kg Charas. As per reports, the accused is presently residing at Jutial Colony, Gilgit and is involved in sale of drugs for local use.
ANF Lahore in an information based operation, seized a Suzuki Mehran Car No. LRR-5852 near Gujrat Toll Plaza, GT Road, Gujrat and recovered 1.2 Kg Opium and 6 Kg Charas from the car. Drugs were tactfully concealed beneath the driving seat and CNG cylinder of the car.
A drug carrier on board namely Shoukat Hafeez r/o Rawalpindi was taken into custody. As per reports, the accused was on his way to Sialkot for delivery of drugs to a local peddler.
ANF Karachi Airport Team during routine checking at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi seized a bag containing 7 Kg Heroin from conveyer belt. However, the reported passenger namely Faisal Nadeem r/o Karachi had already flown to Barcelona abandoning the bag unattended behind.
In a follow up of the case, ANF raided a place near Haji Aslam Hotel, Chota Gate, main Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi and arrested another accused Shahzad Baig r/o Karachi along with recovery of 1.1 Kg Heroin.
ANF Karachi Airport Team during routine profiling at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi detained a passenger Hazrat Wali r/o Karachi and recovered 2 Kg Morphine from his personal possession. Morphine was concealed in his luggage. He intended to fly for Jeddah by Gulf Airline Flight No. GF-751.
ANF Karachi Airport Team, detained a passenger Ehtesham-ul-Haq, resident of Nowshera, at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi on suspicion of having gulped Heroin filled capsules.
During interrogation, the accused confessed of having ingested Heroin filled capsules. He was shifted to Hospital for recovery of Heroin Capsules. He intended to board for Dubai by Emirates Airline Flight No. EK-605.
ANF Karachi apprehended a local resident Rahim Bux r/o Hyderabad and recovered 1.3 Kg Charas from his personal possession. He was arrested in an operation carried out near main Gate, Pakola Factory, Mirpur Khas Road, Hyderabad. As per information, he is involved in supply of drugs at street level.
ANF Karachi arrested an accused Muqaddar Ali, a resident of Hyderabad, and recovered 1.6 Kg of Charas from his personal possession. He was arrested from Sheedi Mohallah, Hostri, Hyderabad. The accused is reportedly involved in local drug peddling.
Cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
