ANF seizes 1.5kg heroin at Lahore airport

LAHORE: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 1.5 kg heroin at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on Wednesday.

The ANF personnel confirmed that a person from Sargodha intended to travel to Sharjah on an international airline.

During the checking of the luggage the Personnel deployed at the airport discovered 1.5 kg heroin in the luggage of the passenger identified by Ijaz Shehbaz. The ANF officials said that the value of sized heroin is Rs1.5m in international market.

After finding the contraband, person, Ijaz Shehbaz was arrested by ANF. He was travelling via Air blue flight 412 for Sharjah United Arab emirates. ANF has shifted the accused at unknown place for further legal action and prosecution.

ANF has also installed a scanner machine at Lahore airport to stop smuggling of any kind of narcotics.
