ANF seizes 4.76-tonne drugs, arrests six suspects

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized a large quantity of drugs weighing 4.76 tonnes in six operations, conducted in Qilla Abdullah, Karachi, Khairpur, Lahore, Peshawar and Shekhupura.

According to ANF officials, the seized drugs include of 26.6kg hashish, 1.3kg heroin, 3,537.6kg opium and 1,201kg amphetamine. The arrested persons were sent behind bars, while three vehicles – being used in the smuggling of these drugs- were also impounded.

The ANF Quetta recovered 3,534kg opium and 1,201kg amphetamine from Killi Roghani area in Tehsil Chaman, District Qilla Abdullah.

The ANF Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar recovered 20kg hashish, 750g heroine, 3.6 opium, 6kg hashish and 70 capsules, weighing 550 grams of heroin and netted the drug smugglers.

All cases had been registered at respective ANF police stations and further investigation was underway.
