ANF seizes 5.1 tons hashish worth Rs12.3 billion

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized mega cache of hashish weighing 5,129 kg (5.12 ton), having Rs12.3 billion value in international market.

The successful intelligence led operation at Qilla Abdullah was carried out by ANF Quetta. The drug consignment was secretly stocked in a seasonal stream situated in desolate area of Killi Haji Khudaidad, Tehsil Gulstan, District Qilla Abdullah.

The drug consignment was placed far away from the populated area and it was stuffed in large number of plastic bags. As per initial reports, the drug consignment was kept at a cache site for handing over to another narcotics gang. On receipt of safe signal, the drug consignment was to be transported to some safe location at coastal belt.

Finally, the drug consignment was intended to be smuggled to some foreign destination across sea through route. The case has been registered at respective ANF police station and further investigation is underway.
