ANF seizes 8kg heroin, 376kg charas; arrests 9 drug peddlers

LAHORE: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) recovered 8 kg heroin, 376 kg charas and arrested nine drug peddlers, seizing three vehicles from their possession during operations conducted in various areas of Punjab and Balochistan.

According to details, ANF Lahore intercepted a Corolla XLI Car No. LZA-4544 near Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad Interchange and recovered 19.200 kg charas concealed in the dashboard of the car. The recovered drugs were packed in 12 packets. Two accused persons Shahid Khan and Naeem Ullah residents of Peshawar were arrested on the spot.

ANF Lahore Road Check Team arrested Araz Muhammad r/o Distt Ghotki and recovered 550gm of heroin tactfully concealed in his shoes. He was arrested near Pai Khel, Kala Bagh Road, Mianwali.

ANF Lahore arrested Ali Rehman r/o Charsadda and Faiz Ullah Khan r/o Charsadda and recovered 2 kg heroin. The accused were arrested near Qutab Pur Toll Plaza Mailsi, Distt Vehari while travelling in Honda Car registered No. LOZ-6962. The drugs were concealed in doors of car.

ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a passenger namely Muhammad Wali r/o Quetta at Rawalpindi Airport and recovered 5.5kg off-white heroin tactfully concealed in his bag. The accused wanted to proceed to Ghana via Doha on Qatar Airline Flight No. QR-615.

ANF Rawalpindi, on information conducted a raid at Ramzan Hotel at Gilgit and recovered 8kg charas from personal possession of Ghazanfar Ali r/o Sakurdu, District Baltistan.

ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car at Burhan Interchange, Attock and recovered 22.800 kg garda Charas, tactfully concealed in bifurcation of fuel tank of vehicle. Two accused persons namely Lal Akbar and Abdul Wahid r/o Bara Khyber Agency were arrested on the spot.

ANF Quetta recovered 297 kg of fine quality charas from a deserted hut at Turbat-Gwadar Road, District Kech. The drugs were placed at a cache site for handing over to another gang for smuggling abroad. ANF laid trap to apprehend the smugglers.

ANF Quetta in another operation recovered 29 kg charas from an area in mountains near Turbat. The consignment was concealed in undulating ground for onward dispatch to Gwadar.

Cases have been registered in ANF police stations and further investigations are under process.
