ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a special campaign against drug peddlers in Islamabad and all other provincial capitals.
In this context, 23 drug peddlers have been arrested, most of them suppliers to students / youth. On 1st day of the drive. At least 19 operations have been conducted in Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar and Attock.
According to details, ANF Karachi raided a site located at Green Town Madina Colony, Malir, and apprehended a local drug peddler namely Muhammad Siddiq and recovered 550 gram hashish from his personal possession. In second operation, ANF raided a place near Abbot Factory, Qaidabad, Malir and held a drug peddler namely Muhammad Irfan along with 400 grams of hashish. In third operation, ANF Karachi, raided in Makrani Mohallah, near Railway Phattak, Hyderabad and arrested a street drug peddler named Jhamlu (Hindu), along with 520 gram of hashish. In fourth operation, ANF detained 2 drug peddlers, identified as Azeem Khan and NaeemKhashkheli, resulting in recovery of 680 gram of hashish.

ANF Karachi in sixth operation, recovered 105 grams hashish from personal possession of a drug peddler namely Javed Khan, who was taken into custody from Al-Asif Square, Karachi. ANF Rawalpindi while acting on a tip-off, intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza, GT Road, Attock and recovered 5 kilograms of heroin concealed in the said car and arrested one drug supplier. It was being carried for local supply at Rawalpindi. ANF Rawalpindi in another operation arrested a local drug supplier and recovered four kilogram of heroin from his possession. The accused was arrested near Allied Bank, Lehthrar Road, Islamabad.
Yet in another operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a drug peddler from parking area Sabzi Mandi Islamabad and seized 300 grams heroin and 1.2 kilograms of hashish.ANF Lahore on pursuance of an intelligence report, raided a house situated in Sabzazar, Lahore. The drug peddlers residing in the said house opened indiscriminate firing at ANF raiding party. However, after short armed resistance, ANF team managed to enter the house and arrested 4 culprits named Syed Aftab Sherazi, Zia Abbas, Muhammad Rehman and Mujahid Iqbal. The operation resulted in seizure of 4 kilograms of hashish, 3 pistols alongwith 12 live rounds.
In another operation, ANF Lahore arrested a drug peddler named Babar Ali resident of Multan alongwith 1.4 kilograms hashish. He was arrested from Bohar Gate, Hassan Parwana Road, Multan. Yet in another operation, ANF Lahore arrested 2 street drug peddlers from Multan Road, Lahore and recovered 1.7 kilograms hashish from their personal possession. ANF Peshawar held a local drug peddler named Muhammad Arif alias Commando resident of Peshawar, from Mohallah Cheena Hazar Khwani, Peshawar and recovered 90 gram of heroin from his personal possession. In another operation carried out near KarkhanoPhattak, Peshawar, ANF Peshawar arrested another street drug peddler named Muhammad Riaz resident of Attock along with 25 gram of heroin.
Yet in another operation, ANF Peshawar held a local drug supplier named Arif resident of Peshawar from Faqir Abad Afghan Colony, Peshawar and recovered 50 Gram Hashish from his personal possession.In fourth strike, ANF Peshawar while carrying out an information based operation, intercepted 2 cars including Toyota Corolla and Suzuki Mehran near Al-Muhafiz CNG, Charsada Road, Peshawar. On searching the cars, 14.4 kilograms of hashish was recovered from secret cavities of the cars. ANF also arrested two drug traffickers identified as Sabir Gul and Syed Muhammad. In fifth operation, ANF Peshawar arrested a drug peddler named Pervaiz Khan from Chugul Pura, Peshawar and recovered 600 gram hashish from his personal possession.ANF Quetta held a local drug peddler named SaadUllah resident of Quetta and recovered 350 grams of heroin. The accused was arrested from Pashtunabad, Quetta. ANF Quetta in another operation arrested a street drug peddler namely Abdul Sattar resident of Quetta and recovered 415 grams hashish from his personal possession. He was arrested from Killi Ismail, Dolat Khan Road, Quetta. All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are underway.
