ANF seizes over 170 kg of drugs, arrests six peddlers

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested six drug peddlers and recovered over 170 kilograms of narcotics during different crackdowns in Rawalpindi.

The ANF team during a raid near Chakri interchange on Islamabad-Lahore Motorway recovered 34 kg of heroin from a vehicle and arrested two accused named Arshad and Usman. In another raid, it recovered a huge quantity of acetic anhydride, besides arresting two accused named Imran and Aqeel and impounded the truck.

Officials added that six kg of opium was recovered from accused Farooq travelling in a Toyota Hiace near Attock, while 129 kg of charas was recovered from Noman near Gurat Interchange.

They added that ANF team registered smuggling cases against the accused, while the activities will be continued to curb drugs smuggling in the region.
