ANF seizes three tons drugs worth Rs2.44 billion

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in its on-going operation titled ‘Drug-Free World’ seized 3036.078 Kg of narcotics valuing Rs2.44 billion internationally, in addition to rounding up 25 culprits involved in drug smuggling.

According to the details, ANF conducted 26 counter-narcotics strikes throughout the country and seized drugs comprising 2945.83 Kg hashish, 68.4 Kg opium, 16.46 Kg heroin, 2.6 Kg methamphetamine, 1 Kg crystal meth, 4000 Xanax tabs, 3000 Diazepam tabs and 1000 ecstasy tabs and also impounded 10 vehicles.

In an intelligence-based operation, Quetta ANF seized 1150 Kg Hashish from the general area of Kund Malir, District Lasbella, 1610 Kg hashish from General area of Killi Dolangi District Qilla Abdullah, 7 Kg heroin from a mountainous area of Ghar Goshkaal, District Chagai and recovered 70 Kg Hashish from Killi Zai Simley, Quetta.

The force also recovered 12 Kg Hashish from personal possession of Gull Muhammad resident of Quetta.

Rawalpindi ANF intercepted a motorcycle near Takbeer Colony, District Attock and recovered 1.5 Kg Hashish from the personal possession of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Attock and Arsalan Haider, a resident of Sargodha.

Further, Azad Kashmir resident Muhammad Shabir Khan and Bannu resident Noman Khan were arrested at Islamabad International Airport while 4.250 Kg of heroin and 870-gram hashish were recovered from them, respectively.

A Toyota Corolla with 4000x Xanax tabs was also found from a parking area of Islamabad International Airport and recovered and two accused, namely Javed Iqbal and Saeed Ullah, were arrested.

ANF recovered 14.4 Kg hashish and 50.4 Kg opium from Bedford Truck near Chungi Number 26 bus stop and arrested two accused identified as Zahid Hussain resident of Faisalabad and Nadeem Sajid resident of Toba Tek Singh.

ANF arrested Syed Paris Ali Alias resident of Islamabad and recovered 3.6 Kg hashish from his personal possession.

Lahore ANF recovered 900 grams hashish from personal possession of Asmat Ullah and Muhammad Arshad both residents of Khushab, besides recovering 18 Kg opium and 49.2 Kg hashish from secret cavities of Corolla Saloon Premio Car near Gojra Toll Plaza, Faisalabad.

Lahore ANF arrested Stana Gul resident of Sawabi at Multan International Airport and recovered 1.1 Kg methamphetamine, besides arresting Rehmat Ullah resident of Mardan at the Airport with 800-gram methamphetamine.

Lahore ANF intercepted a UK bound parcel from a private cargo office, located at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and recovered 1.1 Kg heroin and 660-gram hashish.

Peshawar ANF recovered 8.4 Kg hashish from a Toyota Corolla and 18 Kg hashish from a Hino Troller and arrested Noor Islam and Fayaz Khan resident of Khyber Agency.

Karachi ANF intercepted a parcel from a private courier service office located at Karachi and recovered 1.010 Kg heroin, besides arresting Javid resident of Mardan at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi and recovered 700-gram methamphetamine.

Moreover, a Canada bound parcel from a private courier office was located at Karachi and 1.5 Kg heroin was recovered after which Bangladeshi national Muhammad Alamgir was arrested at Jinnah International Airport.

Niaz Muhammad and Kaleem Ullah were arrested while 1 Kg meth and 1000 ecstasy tabs were recovered from their possession.

All cases have been registered at respective ANF police stations under the CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are underway.
