ANF to brief senate body on narcotic eradication measures in educational institutions

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs and Narcotics Control would be briefed by Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Wednesday, December 13, on the measures taken by the Force to eradicate narcotics in educational institutions of the country.

The committee, scheduled to meet under the Chairmanship of Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, would also be informed by the ANF on the narcotics’ seizure data along with province-wise details for the last four years.

According to notification of Senate Secretariat, the Ministry of Narcotics Control is also scheduled to brief the senate body on its role, functions and responsibilities.

Meanwhile, the Petroleum Division would present a progress report on the summary sent to the Prime Minister for settlement of Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC) with the CNG sector as recommended by the Committee in its meeting held on July 27, 2017 The committee would also consider the bill to amend the Auditor General’s (Functions, Powers and Terms and Conditions of Services) Ordinance 2001 {The Auditor-General’s (Functions, Powers and Terms and Conditions of Services)(Amendment) Bill 2017} as passed by the National assembly and referred to eh committee for consideration and report.

The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) would brief the committee on its human resource and steps taken for the capacity building to conduct special audits as mentioned in the Auditor General’s (Amendment) Bill 2017.
