Moscow: For kids who have been deprived of parental care, Sberbank launched a special deposit “Social”. The deposit can be opened in the name of the child at Sberbank branches by his/her legal representative: a guardian/carer/social services employee.

To do this he/she should provide the document issued by the social services agency regarding the establishment of guardianship, care, or accommodation of the child at social services facility. A minimum of 1 rouble can be credited to a “Social” deposit for a term of 3 years. The deposit has an annual interest rate of 9.15%. Accrued interest can be withdrawn from the deposit at any time. Deposit funds can be spent, but a minimum balance of 1 rouble must be maintained.
