Anti-pest campaign in Punjab from 17th

MULTAN: The provincial government is launching an anti-pest campaign from Monday to aware farmers against the pests attack on cotton crop.

Punjab Agriculture Department Director General Dr Anjum Ali Butter said this, while giving briefing to Agriculture Parliamentary Secretary Rana Ejaz Noon. He said pests, including white fly, army worm and active “taela”, had attacked cotton crop in Bahawalpur, Loudharan, Multan, Vehari, DG Khan, Muzaffargarh, and Khanewal due to mugginess and humidity. He said the campaign at village level would be launched to create awareness among farmers. Additional Secretary Admin Muhammad Akhtar said the Punjab government earmarked Rs 16 billion for promotion of the agriculture sector and green tractor scheme.
