APCC to finalise Rs1.4tr development projects

ISLAMABAD: With the aim to meet 5.5 per cent economic growth rate for the next financial year, the Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) is set to finalise around Rs1.4 trillion development programmes under the chairmanship of Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal

Ministers for development from all the provinces, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Fata will also attend the meeting today.

Sources said that the allocation for the power sector in the PSDP was being increased by about 80pc to Rs113.6 billion for the next year as compared to the current year’s allocation of Rs63.6 billion. Similarly, the allocations for the National High Way Authority (NHA) are also being increased by almost 40pc to Rs150 billion. Rs298.93 billion are being allocated for federal ministries to protect their ongoing projects.
