APM Hafeez Shaikh directs to clear refund claims of textile exporters

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of textile exporters held a meeting with Prime Minister’s Adviser on Revenue and Finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh here today.

During the meeting Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Textile Abdul Razak Dawood, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Shabbar Zaidi and Secretary Finance Naveed Kamran Baloch and Special Secretary Finance Umer Hameed Khan were also present.

The minister approved the suggestion of textile exporters regarding sales tax refund on old ERS form instead of H-forms for the period of July to August.

The participants of the meeting agreed that in Form-H will be further improved to make refund claims process more transparent and speedy or to introduce new process for claiming refunds.

The Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh ordered to immediately pay the refund claims which are already cleared by Federal Board of Revenue amounting to Rs2 billion.
