Appellate tribunal bench II has only one member

LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal bench II is incomplete for more than two years.

Sources said that there were two benches in the tribunal to hear appellants and every bench has two members.

Customs today learnt that bench I of the tribunal was complete as it has Technical Member Umar Mehdi and Member Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti. On the other hand, the bench II has only one Member Umar Arshad. A technical member has not been appointed for more than two years.

Due to the incomplete bench, cases are being delayed.

Sources said that the tribunal could hear more cases by completing the benches.
