LONDON: iPad Pro, the large-sized Apple tablet is now rumoured to be under construction. In the previous week, IBTimes had published about the leaked image of iPad Pro. Now, another leaked photo of the manufacturing mold of iPad Pro has surfaced that indicates Apple is currently building the device.

The Apple logo is pictured inside the newly opened Omotesando Apple store at a shopping district in Tokyo in this file photo taken June 26, 2014.

The official name of the device has not been announced yet. However, the rumour mill is talking about the device using different names like iPad Pro, iPad Air Plus, or iPad Plus.  The rear panel manufacturing mold image that has surfaced may be of dummy device and not the final edition, states BGR.

The exact size of the device cannot be determined by looking at the photo. However, BGR claims that it seems to be an image of a large-sized iPad that indicates it will probably house as a 12.2-inch display. Mac Rumors claims that even though the quality of the image is not good, there is an Apple logo sitting at the center.

Even though nothing has been revealed by Apple on the iPad Pro, the rumour mill has revealed a lot about the device. The IBTimes report that was published in the last week says that it would be housed with a 12.2-inch display and may be powered by A8X chipset, the upgraded version of A8 chipset that powers up the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The A8X chipset is present under the hood of the iPad Air 2 that was released in October 2014. The chipset of the iPad Plus will be accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. It is also speculated that an updated edition of iOS 8 will arrive on the iPad Pro.

Apple was heavily speculated to launch the larger iPad in 2014. However, the Cupertino chose to launch the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. Also, Mac Rumors reports citing The Wall Street Journal that the production of iPad Pro has been pushed to this year so that the suppliers could concentrate on building the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units. The Apple iPad Pro release date is speculated to be within a time-frame of April to June.
