NEW YORK: Apple lacks number of health-monitoring features such as heart activity, blood pressure, but it’s expected to sell around 5-6 million units.

According to WSJ, Tim Cook insisted that “one of the biggest surprises people are going to have when they start using it is the breadth of what it will do.”

For many, Apple Watch is not merely a health tracker or wearable but also serves as fashion accessory. The device provides easy-to-read notifications while also tracking daily activity. It is also expected to have Apple Pay, which means users will be able to pay through their wrist.

Officially, only April release confirmed and not the exact dates. The basic models of Apple Pay is expected to retail at $349 but the high-end luxury “Edition” is expected to sell more than Mac Pro.

PC Advisor notes that despite Cook’s claims that he uses the watch “every day” and “can’t live without it,” customers shouldn’t expect a full 24 hours’ worth of wrist-based enjoyment.

According to a recent report, the Apple Watch will provide 3.5 hours of app use between charges but it can even drop to 2.5 hours if users constantly check social media, stock prices and sports scores.

Among other news, researchers have predicted that the Apple Watch would be 7 times more successful than the Android Wear. So far only, 720,000 Android Wear watches were shipped in 2014 from such companies as Motorola, Samsung, and LG. Pebble managed to sell more than 1 million smartwatches.
