NEW DELHI: Come fall of 2015, tech giant Apple is expected to take the wraps off new products including a larger iPad, its smaller version, and possibly an iPhone 6s.

Other than updates to the standard iPad, Apple is expected to introduce a successor to its iPad mini 3. Called the iPad mini 4, the smaller tablet is expected to bring in lot of improvements from its predecessor that only had the new Touch ID and include features at par with the larger-screened iPad Air 2.

The smaller iPad mini 4 is likely to feature an improved 7.9-inch Retina display with anti-reflective display coating offering vivid colours and greater contrast. Under its hood will be the latest A9 processors which would power all of Apple’s 2015 iOS devices.

As Mac Rumours reports, the iPad mini 4 will sport an ultra-thin 6.1mm body and iPad Air 2 improvements like an 8 megapixel rear camera and a laminated gapless display. It is further expected to include 2GB RAM and with iOS 9, it will support split-screen multitasking feature.

In terms of design, the iPad mini 4 will again take on some of the iPad Air 2 elements like a single row of larger speaker holes in the rear shell alongside the Lightning port of the device. The mute switch will be replaced with a microphone hole.

Unlike the iPad mini 3, the successor will both be thin and light while maintaining some of the standard features like Touch ID, LTE support, and internal storage capabilities from 16 GB to 128GB. However, it won’t come with the latest Force Touch technology this year.

The iPad mini 4 is expected to be unveiled between October and November alongside an updated iPad Air and the long rumoured 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
