CALIFORNIA: The jumbo-sized iPad Pro that according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo will slide out of the box later this 2015 with a near 13-inch profile is laced with two confirmed killer features on release date.

A newC iPad is seen following a presentation at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California October 16, 2014.

Built-in with the rumoured supersized iPad are 3D handwriting features and the same the tablet experience will be further enhanced by the device’s alleged native support for stylus, which is mobile tool that regained popularity with Samsung’s Galaxy Note series.

Kuo, according to Apple Insider, has also reiterated in his latest report that Apple’s biggest iPad will boast of a 12.9-inch front screen and likely equipped with Retina display resolution.

3D input

One thing that will differentiate the iPad Pro from the earlier Apple slate versions is the addition of 3D input but Kuo made clear that 3D handwriting function is not yet written in stone for the laptop-size tablet computer.

If 3D input will end up skipping the iPad Pro, it is likely that the feature will appear in time for the refresh, Kuo said.

While the analyst offered very little details on the subject, he explained that speculated features so far of the 12.9-inch iPad are mainly to enhance the user experience that Apple fans can get from the planned device.

Stylus

And one thing that will showcase the improvements mulled by Apple for the iPad Pro is the introduction of stylus support for the tablet. “We believe Apple’s stylus will improve the user experience of 12.9-inch iPad,” the KGI analyst told Apple Insider.

The use of Stylus, Kuo said, is previously hinted by a number of published Apple patents.

Kuo, however, was quick to add that unlike the Galaxy Note tablet by Samsung stylus will be an “optional accessory,” of the iPad Pro.

Kuo’s explanation for the move: “Coupled with its unfavourable cost structure, high selling prices may turn consumers off if the 12.9-inch iPad is always bundled with it.”

As mentioned too, most of the exciting features that will be packed with the iPad Pro will come in instalments and one prime example he cited is the likelihood that the first Apple-built stylus will not automatically deliver 3D handwriting capability.

“We don’t expect Apple’s stylus to support 3D handwriting in 2015,” Kuo predicted.

The iPad Pro release date, according to 9to5Mac, is likely anytime in the second half of 2015 and should coincide with an upcoming iOS 8 update that reports said will permit the use of split-screen or multitasking feature – thought to be one of the device’s killer offerings.
