Appraisement-East arrests main suspect involved in clearance of acetic anhydride

KARACHI: On the directives of the Federal Boar of Revenue (FBR), the Pakistan Customs has sped up the operations and crackdown against culprits involved in the heinous crimes, corruption and tax defaulters.

According to the source, the Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-East has arrested the mastermind involved in illegal clearance of prohibited chemical acetic anhydride.

The Research and Development (R&D) Section of the Appraisement-East has arrested the main culprit involved in the smuggling and illegal clearance of acetic anhydrite.

The department has already arrested four culprits Ali Qureshi, Tariq Sadiq , Razzaq and clerk Noshad Azam involved in the  case.

On the information revealed by arrested four culprits, it has arrested the main culprit named Abdul Wahab.

On the other hand, the interrogation from the arrested person is underway and it is expected that the master mind of the case, Abdul Wahab would also confess other crime, which he has been made in the past.

The Appraisement-East seized the consignment of lethal acetic anhydride during a raid at the godown located in SITE area which was imported from the United Arab Emirates in the garb of 700 gallons of windshield washer fluid.
