Appraisement East bars principal appraisers, appraisers making phone calls to clearing agents, importers

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement East Deputy Collector Headquarters Muhammad Arslan Majeed Rana issued circular restricting principal appraisers, appraisers to directly making phone calls to importers, clearing agents and traders.

According to circular it has been noticed with utmost concern that the principal appraisers, appraisers make calls to clearing agents, importers and traders and even message them.

Henceforth, all principal appraisers, appraisers are directed to ensure that no calls/messages are made from their cell phones to importers, traders, clearing agents during office hours. Anyone caught will have to bear the consequences and if connivance of anyone proved, he will be show caused as to why action should not be initiated against him under relevant E&D rules, PPC or CRPC, as the case may be.
