Appraisement-East exceeds Q1 revenue, gears up to achieve Oct target

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement-East gears up to meet the assigned monthly revenue target of Rs 18.81 billion during October.

It is given a target to collect Rs 4.80 billion customs duty (CD); Rs 10.53 billion sales tax (ST); Rs 3.30 billion withholding tax (WHT) and Rs 170.43 million federal excise duty (FED) in October.

Despite being unable to meet the assigned customs duty, sales tax, withholding tax and federal excise duty targets in July and the FED target in September, the Appraisement-East surpassed the overall first quarter target for the period ended September 30 by Rs 4.35 billion.

It collected cumulative revenue of Rs 53.15 billion during the first quarter ended September 30 against an assigned cumulative target of Rs 48.79 billion.

It collected cumulative revenue of 13.46 billion under the heads CD, ST, WHT and FED in July against the assigned cumulative target of Rs 14.89 billion. In August, it collected Rs 19.24 billion under the four heads surpassing Rs 15.27 billion target. In September, Rs 20.44 billion was collected against the assigned target of Rs 18.62 billion.

The Appraisement-West has been assigned to collect Rs 206.06 billion during the current fiscal year ending June 30, 2015. It has been given a target to collect Rs 61.46 billion CD; Rs 110.80 billion ST; Rs 32.03 billion WHT and Rs 1.76 billion FED during the current fiscal year.
