Appraisement-East recovers Rs8.68 million by applying correct assessment

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-East has recovered an amount of Rs8.68 million by applying correct assessment from importers.

According to the details, Chohan Traders declared one item under the heading KAPE-HC 106050 dated March 3, 2015 where after inspection, customs found six items in the consignment those fell in the same category. Customs made a case of mis-declaration against it and made the extra-recovery of Rs1.6 million from Chohan Traders.

Similarly, MCC Appraisement-East recovered Rs7.82 million from HNR Co. Ltd.

According to the details, HNR Co. Ltd. under PCT 9405.1090 and 9405.4090 claimed Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) benefit, while officials after reviewing the said SRO reached the conclusion that Rs7.82 million to be recovered more from HNR Co. Ltd. by applying correct assessment of the PCT. Later MCC-East recovered this amount from the company.
