Appraisement West collects Rs 21,954m duties & taxes in July 2017

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Appraisement West has collected at least Rs 21,954 million duty and taxes under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and the federal excise duty in the month of July 2017.

Official sources told Customs Today that the Customs Appraisement West collected Rs 8,617 million customs duty, Rs 9,339 million sales tax, Rs 3,876 million income tax and Rs 122 million federal excise duty.

The Customs Appraisement West collected Rs 1,379 million on the last working day i.e July 31, 2017 that included Rs 512 million custom duty, Rs 634 million sales tax, Rs 233 million income tax and Rs 1 million as federal excise duty.

It is necessary to mention here that during the month of July 2016, the Customs Appraisement West had collected a total of Rs20,414 million duties and taxes that included Rs 7,990 million as customs duty, Rs8,492 million as sales tax, Rs3,802 million as income tax and Rs129 million as federal excise duty (FED), while on the other hand after the beginning of new fiscal year Customs Appraisement West is already expedited its efforts to collect more revenue.
