Appraisement-West collects Rs23b in October

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate, Appraisement-West has collected Rs23.040 billion in the wake of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and the federal excise duty during the month of October, 2016.

Customs official told Customs Today that the Appraisement-West collected Rs23.040 billion as duties/taxes in said month that included Rs8.702 billion under the head of customs duty, while Rs10.067 billion as sales tax, Rs4.099 billion as income tax and Rs172 million as federal excise duty.

The Appraisement-West collected some Rs2.304 billion on the last working days i.e. October 31, 2016 that include Rs843 million as custom duty, Rs1,081 million as sales tax, Rs259 million as income tax and Rs19 million as federal excise duty.

So far, the Appraisement has collected a total of Rs93.178 billion duties/taxes since July 1, 2016 till October 31, 2016 that included Rs36.781 billion as customs duty, Rs39.45 billion as sales tax, Rs16.300 billion as income tax and Rs632 million as federal excise duty.

Sources said that Collector Dr Fareed Iqbal Qureshi felicitated the staff for achieving the revenue target and emphasized to continue the same spirit in the future as well.

Meanwhile the Model Customs Collectorate, Appraisement-East has collected Rs21.985 billion head of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty during the month of October 2016.

As per the details Appraisement-East collected Rs21.985 billion taxes and duties that included Rs7.685 billion under the head of customs duty, while Rs10.672 billion as sales tax, Rs3.523 billion as income tax and Rs126 million as federal excise duty in October 2016.

While showing its extra ordinary performance, the Appraisement-East Collectorate collected Rs1.194 billion on the last working day i.e. October 31, 2016 that include Rs481 million as customs duty, Rs531 million as sales tax, Rs178 million as income tax and Rs5 million as federal excise duty.

Sources said the Appraisement-East has collected Rs92.680 billion taxes since July 1 to October 31, 2016 that included Rs32.451 billion under head of customs duty, Rs 45.837 billion as sales tax, Rs 16.129 billion as income tax and Rs443 million under head of federal excise duty.
