Appraisement West shows outstanding performance collects Rs2b customs duty in Dec 2024

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement West, Lahore has announced a record-breaking performance for December 2024, collecting Rs2.6 billion in customs duty, which is the highest monthly collection since the Collectorate’s inception.

This exceptional achievement has enabled the Collectorate to easily meet the revenue targets for the first and second quarters of FY 2024-25.

In the first quarter of FY 2024-25, the Collectorate recorded a revenue collection of Rs5.11 billion, followed by Rs6.3 billion in the second quarter. The collection in both the quarters remained 101% of the assigned target.

Overall, this performance signifies a substantial increase of Rs2.8 billion in revenue collection compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year, reflecting a growth of 34 percent.

In addition to its impressive revenue collection, the Collectorate has maintained strict vigilance to prevent mis-declaration and evasion of duties and taxes.

During the ongoing fiscal year, the Collectorate has framed 106 contraventions, successfully adjudicating 99 of them in its favor. These efforts have resulted in the willful deposit of Rs334 million in duties/taxes, fines, and penalties by offenders.

The Collectorate remains committed to sustaining this high level of performance for the remainder of the fiscal year, while ensuring stringent controls and effective trade facilitation.
