KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) of Appraisement-West has collected Rs 17.46 billion against the set target of Rs 16.84 billion with the surplus of Rs 616.28 million under different heads, including customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty in the first month of the year 2015 and third quarter of the fiscal year 2014-15.
According to revenue statistics, the MCC Appraisement-West has collected Rs 7.009 billion in share of customs duty against the set target of Rs 6.979 billion with an increase of Rs 29.88 million in January.
The Collectorate has collected Rs7.217 billion in share of sales tax in January against the set target of Rs 6.705 billion with an increase of Rs 511.10 million.
The MCC Appraisement-West has collected Rs 3.063 billion in share of income tax in the month of January against the set target of Rs 3.039 billion with an increase of Rs 23.46 million.
The Collectorate has collected revenue of Rs 175 million in share of federal excise duty against Rs 123.47 million target with an increase of Rs 51.53 million.
The Collector, MCC-Appraisement-West Muhammad Saleem has quite satisfied with the performance of the officials/officers of the Collectorate in connection with the revenue collection in the first month of the third quarters of the fiscal year2014-15, while he stressed upon the authorities to expedite the pace of revenue generation further for getting more effective results.
Sources informed Customs Today that it was the first time during the entire fiscal year 2014-15 that the Collectorate has surpassed the revenue collection against the set target in all revenue heads including customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty.
