Appraisement-West’s PRV Cell recovers Rs 14m in May, 2015

KARACHI: The Post Release Verification (PRV) Cell of the Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West has recovered an amount of around Rs 14.45 million in May, 2015, while detecting 64 cases of short revenue recovery.

The PRV Cell following the directives of Collector Muhammad Saleem, detected cases in which the importers were involved in mis-declaration of value, non-application of correct valuation rulings, mis-declaration of PCT heading, mis-using of SROs and mis-using of classification in clearance of their consignments.

According to the details, the PRV Cell has recovered an amount of Rs 2.31 million from Abid Trading Company on importation of used mix shoes; Rs 92,664 from Urooba International on import of fabric and also recovered Rs 220,526 from IZU Traders on import of polypropylene.

It has also recovered an amount of Rs 1.46 million from The Searle Company on import of polypropylene; Rs 183,628 from Hamdam Paper Products on import of box board; Rs 49,407 from Panatron on import of water dispensers; recovered an amount of Rs 799,738 from Atlas Battery Limited on import of batteries; Rs 382,805 from Adamjee Plastic Industries on import of PVC stabilizer; Rs 1.23 million from Unilever Pakistan Limited on import of sodium lauryl, besides recovering an amount of Rs 90,357 from SK Enterprises on import of sodium lauryl.

The PRV Cell has made recovery of Rs 562,159 from Kolachee International on import of HDPE; Rs 59,259 from Sabcon Chemicals on import of menthol crystal; Rs 448,497 from Lahore Polypropylene on import of polypropylene; Rs 126,884 from Fintex Manuf Corporation on import of polyester texture and it also recovered an amount of Rs 67,159 from Tri Pack Films Limited on import of polypropylene.

Detecting another short revenue recovery cases, it recovered Rs 107,222 from Poly Pack Private Limited on import of polypropylene; Rs 241,511 from Galaxo Smith Kline on import of glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs 80,413 from Javed Umar Enterprises Karim Associates on import of glycerine and also recovered RS 525,850 from Star International on import of sodium lauryl.

The PRV Cell also recovered an amount of Rs 171,394 from Kolachee International on import of phenol NP9; Rs 391,302 from Premier Formica Industries on import of phenol; recovered an amount of Rs 20,239 from Mondelez Pakistan Limited on import of cocoa powder; Rs 1.15 million from Asif International on import of clips in tiles; Rs 12,541 from Khingar International on import of energy saver lamps; recovered an amount of Rs 38,558 from Marvi International on import of energy saver lamps; Rs 215,016 from Abdul Khaliq on import of energy saver lamps and recovered Rs 2 million from Wi-Tribe Pakistan on import of batteries.

It recovered an amount of Rs 273,687 from the importer Anjum Corporation on import of HDPE and recovered an amount of Rs 399,605 from the importer Poly Pack Private Limited on import of PMC.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PRV Cell of Appraisement-West recovered an amount of Rs 10 million in April, 2015, while it collected Rs 8 million approximately in March, 2015.
