Appraiser punished over inefficiency, misconduct

ISLAMABAD: Jamshed Ali Khan, Appraiser, Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement (West), Karachi, has been censured by the competent authority over inefficiency and misconduct.

As per details, the disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the accused officer under Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973. Zeba Bashir Ahmed, Additional Collector, MCC (Appraisement-East), Karachi, was appointed as inquiry officer to conduct probe into the account of various acts of omission and commission committed by the accused officer.

After considering the inquiry report and reply of the accused to the show-cause notice, the authorised officer (Chief Management-Customs) found him ‘inefficient’ in terms of rule 3(a) of the Government Servants (E&D) Rules, 1973 and imposed the minor penalty of ‘censure’ upon Jamshed Ali Khan under rule 4(1)(a)(i) of the Govt. Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973.
