BUDAPEST: Approximately 2,600 fewer people worked in the Hungarian retail sector in May compared to February, Hungarian daily Népszabadság reported yesterday citing data by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).
Népszabadság used February as a comparison, as it was the last full month before the Sunday closures legislation took effect on March 15. That legislation restricts retailers from opening on Sundays. Those who still work in the sector work excessive overtime, according to Népszapadság.
