APTMA to ensure growth-oriented environment for textile industry

ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Monday vowed to facilitate ensuring conducive environment to the textile industry for its development.

“APTMA and other main associations of textile industry are committed to grow the industry and to enhance the country’s textile export,”Chairman APTMA S.M Tanveer said.

Talking to APP, he vowed to enhance the regional trade and compete with other regional countries in textile sector and asked the authorities to resolve issues of the industry.

Chairman APTMA said that the government was aware of industry’s problems as APTMA had already submitted a seven point agenda to the Ministry of Commerce.

S.M Tanveer appreciated the government efforts to bring foreign investment in the country and said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a big achievement which would help exploring new avenues to enhance the global and regional trade.

He said that the government should stop illegal ways of trade and resolve issue of cost of business to protect the local market and enhance business opportunity in local textile sector in the country.

He said “We want to resolve all issues peacefully with the government through negotiation and our demands are considered seriously by the government.”

He said other leading associations of the textile industry including Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA), All Pakistan Power-looms

Association (APA) and the All Pakistan Sizing Industry Association (APSIA) have also decided to extend the date of strike.

He said the traders had full confidence on the government specially on Minister for Finance, Ishaq Dar who is a capable of resolving the issues of textile industry and cost of doing business in this sector”, said Central Chairman, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) S.M. Tanveer.
