APTMA urges PM to take notice of suspended gas supply

LAHORE: The industrialists have urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take notice of delay in gas supply to industry in Punjab, which was remained suspended during Eid holidays.

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Chairman S M Tanveer criticised the SNGPL management for suspending the gas supply to the textile mills, resulting into close of business and monetary loss to workers in terms of overtime during the last four days including Eid holidays.

Tanveer said that due to ongoing energy crisis, the textile industry exports had downed by $1 billion in just during the last five months. The APTMA chairman also appealed to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Minister for Textile Industry Abbas Khan Afridi to swift action of the situation and direct the SNGPL management to restore gas supplies to the textile mills immediately.
