WARSAW: Steel giant ArcelorMittal’s Polish unit will invest PLN 500 million in a Cracow-based plant, regarding both steel production and processing, the company said in a press statement on its website.
“Total investments in the primary operations in Cracow plant will amount to PLN 200 million,” the statement shows. Investments will concern relining of blast furnace and modernization of an oxygen furnace.
“Additional projects in the downstream operations will also be implemented,” the company said. “They include the extension of the hot rolling mill capacity by 0.9 million tons per year and increasing the hot dip galvanizing capacity by almost 0.4 million tons per year.”
